I have a new role model! An 80 year old woman recently set a new national half marathon record. She's not quite twice my age and an hour faster. She only started running nine years ago, but had been a race walker for several decades. She credits exercise with helping her deal with her husband's chronic illness and death.
As for my training plans, work has again been getting in the way. Marathon days at work have left me exhausted in the morning and oversleeping. The lack of exercise and, frankly, lack of anything outside of work is having a marked impact on my energy levels and attitude.
